This series, “The Flowers of Evil” I explore dual meaning of flowers specifically painting from my photos. This particular piece: some echinacea flowers I shot while I was on a derive on Michigan Ave. I take long walks often to physically and mentally wear me out. I am a chronic over thinker so I find myself becoming taken by my thoughts. The echinacea is a native flower, used for teas for its healing properties. When I was looking at them on my walk I was pondering my own significance. While I am wrought, constantly reminded of the past and the present, everything compiles into an overwhelming wholeness in me. It also feels like it’s destroying me. Like there is no remedy for this feeling: just long walks and hoping they’ll calm themselves.
