As an artist finishing can be a long and calculated conundrum. You discover some things look best unfinished. This piece is a nod to my other sold piece
"Precious". I find myself returning to those sentiments but from a different point of view. The female mantis keeps careful eyes on you eyeing her flower patch-after heartbreak we guard the little bit of softness left.
Sometimes to frightening granular observation that we keep new experiences from meeting us. This piece is old wounds being prevalent in the foreground. If you don't do the work you will find yourself a stranger to the world around you. Vulnerability is not weakness.
Without it we cannot move into our more enlightened selves.
