"Independence" | painted years ago. I was in a relationship where I was the primary earner. I worked two jobs at one point. Took out payday loans, all to keep us afloat because he did not financially support us. It wore me out. Each new day was a trial. So I painted this solitary fox: the first painting ive done in years up until then. While I was in constant company I felt alone more than anything, I also felt pressured to take the next step in life. I recognized I had the power to chance my setting completely by leaving. Hence why the fox looks back where stepped, but with one foot forward. Hindsight really is always 20/20.
