Sometimes, I could swear; that thorns are brushing under my skin. It is a nuisance in the back of my head. The thoughts are like a synchronized croak. Sometimes, it's even louder. All my senses are engulfed in this anxiety.

The weeds of the thistle are known for their benevolent properties. Yet, they'll still leave an unpleasant pinprick. I love the duality of these wildflowers. The ants trickle along with the skull. No flesh is left on the head, but they still swarm. Ants symbolize death, and I also wanted them to have a literal representation. They are the thoughts of self-harm that never quell.

I sold this piece earlier this year: Thank you, Fernando, for your support.
