9in x 12in oil on canvas. This piece is a sister piece of “Disturb”. I am captivated by the clear boundaries set by our beloved cats- especially when they are uncomfortable. While they crave attention it is on their terms which we happily comply to. My own temperament is similar- as I’m sure many of us non people pleasers are- to be described as blunt, adamant and selfish. And yearning for closeness with such a prickly combination makes for an interesting life among friends and peers- the yellow roses symbolizing both friendship and also jealousy and loss of love- the blue gown conveying the inevitable loneliness in actions. Reflected back in the eyes of the same creature that rubs its head on your legs demanding affection.
