8in x 8in acrylic on canvas. I took this picture of the dying echinace while I was on my mental health walk without my baby. While I was mapping this composition, I subconsciously tied into it a ward of all ill intentions towards him. If only it were as easy as putting a snake in the flower bed. This is the third installment of my "Baby blue" series in which blue is the focal color. Five aging echinacea illustrate the passage of time. Nothing outruns death, not even the flower of resilience. Not even the Blue Racer colubrid snake- non venomous and as rooted to the Americas as the flowers. The rare blue scales-like blue in witchcraft for truth and health. The snake carries on its back transformation.
